Grandkids enjoy first horse show trophies of 2011

The first “Miniatures In Motion” horse show was held this July at Escanaba, Michigan and our grandchildren, Dawson and Josephine Navarre, had a great time.  Josephine showed in the costume class and in lead-line and was awarded trophies for her work.  Dawson came to the show determined to take home a trophy and was not disappointed.  He also won a ribbon in the costume class and really impressed the judges in his ability to show in the jumping and hunter jumping classes – it was his first time showing in a jumping classes.  But he had still to win a trophy, so he begged to enter a driving class – something he had not even prepared for.  After a short training drive outside the arena he entered his first driving class and took home his first place trophy.

Here’s some videos showing their fun at the show.

This was Dawson’s first attempt at Halter Obstacle.

Joey led Mr. Chips was dressed as a merry-go-round horse and Dawson led Mandalay Bay dressed as a shark-invested ocean.

Dawson stunned the judges with his ability to lead Mandalay Bay over the jumps.

Joey showed her skills at driving Mr. Chips.

Dawson drove for the first time in this Western Country Pleasure class.
